Do Not Be Ashamed

Hello again,

Today's message comes from the Gospel of Romans. Paul is speaking to the Romans as he is in house arrest. Chapter 1:16, Paul exclaims,"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.'' Have you ever been in a situation where people are saying negative things about your faith? If you have, did you speak up and defend your faith?

I ask these questions because all of us who believe in Jesus will have opportunities to defend our faith. Now, there is a time to keep our mouth shut and leave. And there is a time to share our faith. This is where listening to the Holy Spirit comes in!

The Holy Spirit is able to tell us that it is time to leave and find a safe place. Jesus knew when the situation was getting out of control. So, he "slipped away" and the people who wanted to kill him could not find him. I believe that is true for us too.

Many of you who read my blog are in countries where it is against the law to spread the news about Jesus. Others may be in dire circumstances if the government knows you are a Christian. We will not be ashamed of the gospel, but let us use the discernment that come from God the Father to know when to give our testimony or to keep quiet. Just because we might keep quiet, does not mean that we are ashamed! Do not let guilt make you feel unworthy! Trust in Jesus and listen to the Holy Spirit and use common sense!

One last comment, salvation came to the Jews first. After the Jewish people listened to Jesus, then his disciples spread the "Good News about Jesus" to the Gentiles. Gentiles are all the other people of the world.

May God keep you and bless you!

Hardest Battles

Good day to you all,

I have been through more pain recently. I was at a football game and I missed a step in the stands and fell on my back. This happened about 12 days ago. Then, I had a shot in each knee. So, for the last two weeks I have been in a great deal of pain.

On Instagram, a friend sent this message, "God doesn't give the hardest battles to his toughest soldiers, he creates the toughest soldiers through life's hardest battles." I do not know about you, but this quote opened my eyes to what God was doing with me! I could write several pages of all my injuries, illnesses, and pain that I have gone though and continue to go though.

In the Bible, Joshua 1:9, God commands, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged, for the the Lord your  God will be with you wherever you go."  You may be thinking, "I wonder why David put these two sayings together?"

Well, because in this world right now, Christians face ridicule and hatred for our faith in Jesus Christ. Not only that, but what the Bible tells us what is Godly behavior and what is worldly behavior. There is so much anti-christian attitudes all over the world!

We are in the "the hardest battles" of our lives. Yet, God told Joshua, "Be strong and courageous." Why? Because HE is always with us wherever we go! In illness, pain, persecution, prison, or in good times, in health, wealth and happiness...God is with us!

Keep seeking the LORD and you will find HIM!
