Courage and Comfort...

Good morning,

Well, the sun is shining this morning! It is still cool, but compared to the rest of the U.S. we are hot!

Today, I would like to share a paragraph from my book, "Courage & Comfort." (p.30)

"On March 9, 2017, I was moved to room #506 in the Cancer Ward. All my life I have been healthy and strong. I was the one who helped people who were ill or weak. Now, I have to ask for help just to use the restroom! At this point, if I didn't have Jesus in my life, I would not just be humbled but crushed. Little did I know that I was just beginning my journey through cancer and what the treatments for cancer would do to me."

Here I am nine years later and I am still dealing with the effects of the Chemotherapy, Whole Brian Radiation, and two rounds of Autologous Stem Cell Replacement. I am on medication for my Thyroid, Seizures, and my Adrenal Glands. I thank God that I am alive!

I know that all that I have gone through with cancer and seizures will be used by God. I have to trust Him. I have to trust His timing for healing me, either in this world or in heaven. There is a line in a song that goes, "Trust and obey for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus than to trust and obey." Sometimes, it is extremely difficult to trust and obey. Yet, I must remember, it is God that allows me to trust and obey!

Nehemiah 8:10, "For the joy of the LORD is your strength."

For the LORD

Hello again,

The verse for today is found in Psalm 11:7, "For the LORD is righteous, he loves justice; the upright will see his face."  We know that this world does not seem to honor the righteous person. Nor, does this word love justice, unless it is for it's own cause. Usually, that cause is against the Lord!

"The upright will see his face." What does this really mean? I believe that the "upright" person is one whose life is noticed by the LORD. I am so grateful that God looks at me and sees in me what I do not see! The LORD looks at our hearts. He knows that we are imperfect and will remain that way until we join Him in heaven.

In Micah 6:8 the LORD asks, "And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."  God knows what we are going through in this world we live in. He knows each and everyone of us because He created us! God is righteous and He love justice and notices His people when they humble themselves and walk with Him. Then, no matter what we face in this world, we will see His face!

I am encouraged by the LORD TODAY!

I am His,

Branches

Hi!

Whoever said it doesn't rain in southern California is wrong! It's raining now. After all the fires we have had in the last few months, we are dealing with mud slides! Please pray for the people who live in the mountains and foothills. Mud slides are very dangerous!

I have recently gone through a "dry time" in my faith. God is so wise and patience. Last night He told me, "David, you have cut yourself off the vine." God "re-grafted" me! I am back in the vine. Jesus told his disciples, "I am the vine; you are the branches. if you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." (John 15:5)

Looking back and realizing that I have "cut myself off the vine", I see that I have not done the things I normally do. I will be honest with you. I have not been to church in a while, some of this is because of my poor health, but mostly because I cut myself off the vine! I have not read the Word like in the past. I now know more than ever that, "apart from me you can do nothing."  (Jesus speaking).

Please, I am asking you, when your prayers do not seem to be answered, do not cut yourself off the vine! Keep reading the Word and keep praying! God's timing is always perfect!

I am His,

David Walter Wiseman

KEEP SEEKING GOD!
