Good evening wherever you may be,
The verses I would like to write about today is from the book of Proverbs, Chapter 3:5 & 6. It says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Lately, these verses have been a challenge for me.
I have had several injuries in the last five years. Even now, my knees are hurting, my left ankle is sore, and my back is still not 100%. I will be very honest with you. Trusting the Lord and dealing a variety of aliments over the years can be difficult! Yet, I know that the Lord knows what He is doing in me and for me.
"Lean not on your own understanding." I realize that the Lord gave us common sense, but when it comes to understanding His ways, we are not to use it. I do not know about you, but I know that there are times that this is tough for me to not use my common sense. I get in more trouble when I use it for matters concerning the Lord!
"In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." I have written to you before that I have been in constant pain for eleven years. I have a multitude of things I would like to accomplish each day, yet my pain stops me from doing them. So, each morning I ask the Lord, "Here is what I would like to do today... You show which ones I am able to do." Some days I am unable to do anything and other days I am able to wash the dishes! I have to be content with what the Lord allows me to do.
Whatever you are dealing with today, do your best when it comes to these verses. I do know pain. I am doing my best each day. I believe that the Lord pleased when I do my best for him. Now, you do your best for Him.
I am His, David Walter Wiseman
